Welcome to our website! I am honored to serve as Basileus for the Iconic Iota Omicron Sigma Alumnae Chapter for the next two years. For nearly two decades, this chapter has served the West Columbia and surrounding areas through sisterhood, leadership, and service. From giving back to youth through national initiatives like Operation BigBookBag and the Sigma Youth Symposium to establishing the Mildred Weathers McDuffie Scholarship, supporting the March of Dimes, and leading the charge in South Carolina for water safety and teaching community members how to swim though Swim 1922, the members of IOS are dedicated to making measurable changes in our community. We also seek to serve by way of mentoring young girls, championing women’s health and wellness, heightening awareness of issues that disproportionately affect minorities, and celebrating women in our communities.
We invite you explore this website to learn more about Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., and the Iota Omicron Sigma Alumnae Chapter, our projects, and initiatives. Also, follow us on Instagram and Facebook to see how we impact our community. Ours is a sisterhood comprised of women from every profession with a mission to enhance the quality of life for women and their families through community service, civil and social action.
As we continue our Centennial celebration, IOS is committed to impactful service and upholding what our founders set into motion 100 years ago. Thank you for visiting us!
Yours in Service,
Soror Charlene Slaughter
